After five years birding Lake Chapala in central Mexico, we are starting a new chapter in the Andes of southern Ecuador. We are based in the world heritage colonial city of Cuenca (8500 ft. elev.) -- an hour from the turquoise lakes of Cajas National Park at the 13,500 foot Continental Divide. Thirty miles southward, is our country place where we are restoring historic Hacienda Tabachiri (5000 ft. elev) in the magnificent Yunguilla Valley -- an hour or so from the Pacific Ocean. Tabachiri will be our host-site for visiting birders.
